This year, Wines of Hungary will be representing Hungarian wines with its own stand again \u2013 and this year&#8217;s program also has some exciting new features.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tasting Zone &#8211; More than 60 wines, a comprehensive overview of Hungary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wines of Hungary began preparations for the 2026 ProWein Tasting Zone back in 2025, involving two leading German trade magazines, <strong>Wein+Markt<\/strong> and <strong>Meininger&#8217;s Weinwirtschaft<\/strong>, in the wine selection process.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Weinwirtschaft&#8217;s wine experts evaluated Hungarian white wines in three categories as part of the Furmint &amp; Friends tasting. The focus was primarily on varietal Furmints, Furmint-based blends, and, in the &#8220;Friends&#8221; category, other Hungarian white wines made from typically local, autochthonous grape varieties. The evaluation was based on a 100-point scoring system widely used internationally, ensuring that the wines were rated objectively and according to global standards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another key thematic element of the 2026 Wines of Hungary Tasting Zone is the tasting led by Wein+Markt, focusing primarily on the K\u00e9kfrankos grape variety. K\u00e9kfrankos is one of Hungary&#8217;s most important red grape varieties, which fits in perfectly with international consumer trends. Its fruity character, lively acids, and elegant, easy-drinking style make it particularly appealing to younger generations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Wines of Hungary Tasting Zone will focus on Furmint and K\u00e9kfrankos, but visitors will also be able to explore a wider range of Hungarian wines. The wines on display include Olaszrizling, Bikav\u00e9r, H\u00e1rslevel\u0171 and many other distinctive Hungarian wine styles. Visitors will be able to taste more than <strong>60 different wines<\/strong>, giving them a comprehensive overview of the diversity, quality and innovative approach of Hungarian winemaking.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"image-with-caption__wrapper \">\n            <div class=\"image__wrapper\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/PMA_2025.jpg\" alt=\"PMA_2025\" class=\"ofi-cover-center-center\">\n        <\/div>\n    \n    <\/div><div class=\"text__wrapper\">\n    <p><strong>New format: pop-up tasting at the stand<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the new features of the 2026 edition is dynamic, targeted communication. This year, there will be no traditional masterclasses at the stand.
