With at least 200 wines to taste and live music, a good atmosphere is guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>23 April &ndash; Saint George&rsquo;s Week Vigils in M&oacute;r <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The traditional spring festival in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/upper-pannon\/mor-wine-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M&oacute;r Wine District<\/a><\/strong> boasts outdoor events in Kapucinus Square, including live music, cultural events, a wine street and a folk art fair, while in the Lamberg Palace park, you can participate in a cooking competition as well as listen to music on the small stage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/borzsongas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> 29 April &ndash; 1 May &ndash; Vill&aacute;ny Wine Jamboree<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Head to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/pannon\/villany-wine-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vill&aacute;ny Wine District<\/a><\/strong> on the final weekend of the month for the &lsquo;Vill&aacute;ny Wine Jamboree&rsquo;, or Borzsong&aacute;s, when the town&rsquo;s cellars and courtyards will be filled with music, dancing and other programmes, including concerts, craft workshops and kids&rsquo; activities. You can participate in vineyard and cellar tours &ndash; on foot, by bike and even on tractor &ndash; as well as enjoy wine tastings and delicious snacks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/villanyi_borvidek-11_jav_bor-hu.jpg?1649758191081\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/charming-weekends-in-tarcal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>29 April &ndash; 1 May &ndash; Tarcal Charming Weekends<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Spend May Day in the charming village of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/wine-regions\/tokaj-wine-region\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tokaj<\/a><\/strong> &ndash; Tarcal, quite literally, as the Tarcal Wine and Cultural Association is organising the Tarcal Charming Weekends for the 17th time. As well as open cellars, putting the village&rsquo;s winemakers in the spotlight, there will be vineyard tours, masterclasses, a garden cinema, stargazing, concerts, a sparkling wine brunch, gastro-theatre and vegetarian nutrition secrets. In keeping with the &lsquo;charming&rsquo; theme, the event will also feature a &lsquo;witchcraft&rsquo; fire and dancing late into the night, so there will be plenty to keep you occupied!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>May<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> 12-14 May &#8211; Miskolc Avasi Borangol&aacute;s <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This three-day event, the largest wine and gastronomic event in Miskolc, held in the unique Avas Hill wine cellar row in the middle of the city, aims to revive traditional Miskolc wine culture. The more than 800 cellars and wine houses, often 300-400 years old, come to life during this time, when visitors can enjoy a variety of music and cultural programmes, the local winemakers&rsquo; wines as well as guest winemakers from Hungary&rsquo;s major wine regions. So spend the weekend wandering around the atmospheric cellar rows glass and map in hand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> 14 May &#8211; Palkonya vineyard run <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sport and wine come together in the Palkonya vineyard run, where you can run through some of the most beautiful vineyards in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/pannon\/villany-wine-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vill&aacute;ny Wine District<\/a><\/strong> and discover when some of Vill&aacute;ny&rsquo;s most popular wines come while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. As well as running, you can also savour a gastro picnic, fine wines, a lounge atmosphere and other entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/husvet_palkonya_bor-hu.jpg?1649758316147\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/mad-furmint-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>19 May &ndash; Furmint Grand Tasting, Budapest<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Usually taking place in early February, that is Furmint February, this grand event was postponed to May. It&rsquo;s a wonderful opportunity to try hundreds of Furmints from the best producers of the variety in the majestic surroundings of the Hungarian Heritage House (Hagyom&aacute;nyok H&aacute;za) near Batty&aacute;nyi t&eacute;r.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> 28 May &ndash; WineCastle on the Sikl&oacute;s Castle terrace<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The slogan of the BorV&aacute;r event is the smell of the past, the taste of the present and the melody of the future. An informal, relaxed walkaround tasting of wines from the Vill&aacute;ny Wine District on the terrace of the Sikl&oacute;s Castle, with breath-taking panoramic views, a sky bar and a DJ playing chill music. You can taste the wines from over ten Vill&aacute;ny-Sikl&oacute;s wineries and enjoy some gastronomic experiences.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>27-29 May &#8211; Gourmet Festival, Budapest<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Gourmet Festival held in the atmospheric Budapest Millen&aacute;ris Park is a great chance to try delicious dishes cooked up by some of the country&rsquo;s top restaurants as well as a wide selection of wines. There is a theme each year, and this year it is &lsquo;heritage&rsquo;, so expect some world class dishes that will remind you of the recipes your granny wrote in pencil in a dog-eared notebook, the smells of your childhood and the dishes that truly represent a whole country. You have three days and fifty chefs to help you discover this.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/gourmet_bor-hu.jpg?1649758376421\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>June<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> 3-5 June Tokaj Wine Days <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Tokaji Bornapok is Tokaj&rsquo;s largest wine festival, with top winemakers presenting their wines in wooden booths in the town centre. Taste some of Tokaj&rsquo;s best wines with the winemakers in person, talk about the winemaking process and learn plenty of interesting facts. There will also be open cellars to visit, gastronomic treats to savour, music and colourful culture in a white wine region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>7-11 June Book, Wine and Jazz Festival, Balatonf&uuml;red <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Part of the Hungarian Book Week, this traditional cultural event in Balatonf&uuml;red is organised around three experiences &ndash; author readings, book launches and signings, wine tasting and jazz concerts. It aims to popularise reading by mixing some other elements into the blend. The winemakers of the Balatonf&uuml;red-Csopak Wine District will be pouring their wines for you to sip as you read. The final element of the blend is Jazz, with Lake Balaton and the Vaszary Garden providing the backdrop for the passionate young bands entertaining the crowds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/rosalia-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>10-12 June &ndash; Rosalia, Budapest City Park<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>This ros&eacute; wine festival, now held in the Budapest City Park, has become a summer tradition. Wooden booths serving ros&eacute; pop up for three days in the park, so you can enjoy chilled ros&eacute; from all over the country to your heart&rsquo;s content.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/rosalia_bor-hu.jpg?1649758456666\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong> 10-11 June &ndash; Wine Region Weekend, Monor Cellar Village<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Head to Monor and discover the secrets of this wine cellar village not far from Budapest. As well as diverse cultural programmes, the best winemakers from all over Hungary will be pouring wines for visitors. The event takes place in a unique, original cellar village on the edge of Monor, with around 1,000 restored press houses and cellars amongst the vineyards. The backdrop and the diverse cultural programme promise a magical atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>11-12 June &ndash; Szent Gy&ouml;rgy Hill until Dawn <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Atmospheric Szent Gy&ouml;rgy Hill in the Badacsony Wine District boasts numerous cellars within easy walking distance of each other, and in early June each year, around 20 throw open their doors and organise events and music all night. So you can taste, dance or just enjoy the atmosphere of this relaxed all-night event, with a beautiful view over the surrounding volcanic hills and the emerald Balaton.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/hajnalig_bor-hu.jpg?1649758506865\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>15 &ndash; 19 June &ndash; Street Music Festival, Eger <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Eger turns into a bustling Mediterranean city during the Street Music Festival. Over 50 bands and at least 120 musicians take over the city centre streets during this time. Although not a wine festival, it&rsquo;s taking place in a wine city, so you can combine some wine tasting with enjoying some energetic live music throughout the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/somlo-day-and-night\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>17&ndash;19 June Soml&oacute; Night-time Cellar Tour<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>After a two-year break, the Soml&oacute; night-time cellar tour is back! Different to previous editions, each Soml&oacute; cellar participating will host a volcanic winemaker from around the country, so there will be twice as many winemakers participating. Two days and one night &#8211; the traditional night-time tour will start at 10 pm on Friday, sandwiched between Friday and Saturday daytime events, such as craft fairs, volcanic and cultural programmes and concerts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/bor.hu\/media\/uploads\/hirek_2022\/04_aprilis\/big_spring_event_round-up\/somlo_bor-hu.jpg?1649758564159\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/winesofhungary.hu\/events\/boldogkisfalud-festival-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">24-26 June &ndash; BOLDOGkisfaludfest, Bodrogkisfalud<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Wine, music, happiness is what the BOLDOGkisfalud Fest promises. Taking place in the heart of Tokaj in Bodrogkisfalud, you can taste wines from premium wineries as well as gin and whiskey from the local distillery, buy handicrafts, enjoy music and the surrounding nature.
