Introduction

It is quite unknown, but In the 19th century our city, Szentendre, just right north of Budapest has been one of the largest vine-growing cities of Hungary. The post-phylloxera times left Szentendre barren, without any wine production. The mission of Kőhegybor (Kőhegy is the name of the famous volcanic hill of Szentendre, where our vineyard can be found) is to restore the wine making traditions after more than 100 years. Our winers are unique, as they are reflecting the volcanic soil of Kőhegy, the traditional southern style of Szentendre supported by modern winemaking technologies.
