Introduction

The Kőróka is a family operated winery located in one of the most beautiful area of Káli-basin on Szűcs-hill. Káli-basin is often called as the Hungarian Provance for a reason, because the gorgeous area is mostly suitable for grape production. This region is said to be a wine producer territory since the ancient Roman ages as part of Pannonia Province, later this wine maker community had been given tax relief by the Árpád Dynasty kings during the Middle Ages in exchange of their wines delivered onto the Royal table. Kőróka makes its wines through rethinking the traditions of wine production and mixing centuries old methodology with modern techniques. Grape and wine needs special attention and personal presence. The winemaker – and of course – the whole family keeps an eye on the process how the sweet must (grape juice) becomes the luscious, Balaton-highland wine.
