Introduction

One of the villages with the longest viticultural traditions, located on the south-western slopes of Tokaj Hill is Tarcal, where Simonfay Winery grows its grapes and produces its wines. The Simonfay Winery was founded in 2004 by Dr Géza Simonfay, who has been ceaselessly building and expanding the vineyard with his family since then. The first bottled Hárslevelű wine was made in 2006. Renovation of the estate centre, called Simonfay Borkúria, and erection of the processing plant began in 2009, simultaneously with the establishment of the Simonfay Wine Shop. The next project is the renovation of the apartments located on the adjacent plot of land.
