Introduction

The Von Beőthy Cellar reopened in 1998, and the continuation of the centuries-old winemaking tradition of the Beőthy family was interrupted for a time in the 20th century only by the era of producer cooperatives. After the resumption, with 2.5 hectares purchased on our own and with the purchase of 1 hectare, 250 meters high in a real mountain winery, we carry out controlled organic cultivation in the Badacsony wine region. Our goal is to further promote quality red wines in the Balaton Uplands. In 2010, at the VinCe International Wine Exhibition, our Pinot noir 2007 vintage wine won the title of Best Wine of the Exhibition, followed by many other domestic and international awards. We are a founding member of Terra Hungarica and in 2015 our winemaker János Beőthy won the “Par Excellence” award founded by the Hungarian Sommelier Association for his outstanding work in the field of Hungarian gastronomy and Hungarian winemaking. Several of our wines have been included in the book of National Wine Excellence.
