Furmint Février was the flagship opening event of the international Furmint February campaign, held on 8 February 2026 in Paris, on the evening preceding the Wine Paris exhibition.

Furmint Février was an informal yet exclusive professional event that consciously broke away from the formal framework of traditional tastings. The focus was on personal presence, direct conversations and experience-driven discovery.

The aim of the evening went beyond a conventional tasting or presentation: the event was designed to foster meaningful professional connections, encourage inspiring dialogue, and showcase the diversity of Furmint in a direct and experiential way.

More than 200 invited professional guests attended the event, including international wine writers, importers and distributors, as well as leading sommeliers.

More than 26 Hungarian wineries were represented at Furmint Février, with a strong focus on Furmint-based wines presented in a wide range of styles and interpretations.

Through the wines tasted, guests experienced the exceptional versatility of Furmint. Throughout the evening, Hungarian Furmint wines were paired with a variety of international dishes, highlighting the grape variety’s relevance and adaptability within an international gastronomic context.

Alongside high-quality professional content, the event also featured entertaining programs built around education. One such element was a playful casino-style challenge, where participants placed bets while tasting Furmint wines, testing their sensory skills. At the same time, a sommelier engaged guests with professional challenges and interactive tasks.

We believe that Furmint Février, organized under the umbrella of Wines of Hungary, successfully showcased the potential of Furmint—and Hungarian wine more broadly—while offering an excellent opportunity for Hungarian wineries to present the exceptional versatility of Furmint directly to an international professional audience.
