Introduction

The vineyard is located 45 km from Budapest on the main road 4 near Monor. The vineyard and the cellar are located on the outskirts of Monorierdő. The Monor vineyards are situated on the high plateau of the Gödöllő-Monor hills, on the south-western edge of the Cserhát mountain range, at an average altitude of 200 metres above sea level. The soils are Upper Pleistocene type loess 10-30 m thick. The topsoil is a rusty brown forest soil or carbonate forest residue chernozem soil, with high levels of dolomite, few illitic clay minerals and relatively low levels of iron and aluminium. The Monor vineyards are situated on the high plateau of the Gödöllő-Monor hills, along with the vineyards of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Blue Franc, Kadarka, Karat, Olaszrizling, Riesling, Generosa, Rhineland Riesling and Irsai Olivér. Organic farming is used throughout the entire vineyard.
